It works - until it doesn't Apr 04, 2009

Very poor design. The cover o-ring is easily deformed and costs $17+ to replace. Clogs easily and is impossible to repair because all fittings are heat sealed. I'm not sure if there is a better chlorination system out there - do your research if installing a new filter system.
Update - I am unable to control the amount of chlorination with the adjustment knob. After installing two previous units without this problem it must be a defect associated with this unit only.

Unimproved after 15 yrs Oct 15, 2010
By Han D. Mann Purchased to replace the same model on my parents pool whose screw-on cap had developed cracks and leaked after 15+ yrs of service. Could have replaced the cap only, but entire unit cost the same after shipping. New unit is identical to old: the good - easy to replace; the bad - design is unchanged, be prepared to go through a lot of O-rings (for the cap) and invest in an O-ring removal tool. O-ring sits in a recess which collects dirt and makes it difficult to remove for cleaning and lubrication. If you are putting in a new feeder (or are willing to replumb your existing fittings), check out the Pentair, see-through feeders. I put one in my pool 2 months ago: it holds up to 11 tablets, but only the bottom one erodes/gets wet, you can see when to refill it, and the cap is easy to remove/service - an all-around better design for about $25 more.

Nothing beats an Original Aug 23, 2010

Last year, installed a Nature2 mineralizer but got the Pro G version with mineralizer and chlorine feeder (to replace a 15year old Hayward feeder, which actually was still working). Bad mistake, the ProG feeder portion crapped out by clogging in the valve area and valve mechanism broke sending zero chlorine to the pool. Took a long time for me to realize this... bought this and installed in-line after the half-functioning ProG and works wonderfully, as it should. Stay with an Original.

chlorinator seems to work Jul 16, 2010
By Nannie McPhee This is an early review. I've used the unit a few weeks. Took two weeks to get the adjustment set so that the chloine is not too low or too high. Easy to fill. The cap is a good feature. No need to crank it down. Just spin the cap (top) on unitl it clicks. Easy on, Easy off.

By S. De Castro This product is everything it says it is, very easy to use, very easy to install and very easy to operate, also Hayward is a known company for excellent pool products (I researched it). I highly recommend it to any one who wants to purify your water.
