When to Replace a Filter

One of the most common questions we get is how often should a filter cartridge be replaced.  The useless and most common answer frequently given is "it depends."  The enhanced and more useful answer is that it depends (can't get away from it completely), but is generally six months or less for commercial pools and spas, sometimes considerably less if it gets a lot of use, and a year or so for normal use residential pools, perhaps more often if subject to more than average use or leaves and other debris.
